Flower Care Tips for your Fresh Flower Arrangement

Flower Care Tips for your Fresh Flower Arrangement

Did you just receive a flower delivery from Froggy's Garden? You've come to right place to learn how to extend the life of your floral arrangement. A few short tips will keep your bouquet looking its best.

  • Upon receipt, ensure there is enough water in the vase. We fill it up before we deliver, but with the bumpy PA backroads, we tend to lose water on our way to your home.
  • If your bouquet included a packet of food, mix it in with fresh water. It really does help extend the life of your flowers.
  • We add a lot of blooms and greenery into our arrangements - so they drink more than you think the first few days. Check each day that all stems are in water and add more, if needed.
  • Avoid displaying in direct sunlight. A windowsill might be an attractive location to display the flowers, but make sure they aren't getting cooked in the sun, or chilled in winter by a drafty window.
  • Protect from direct flow of heating and AC vents, as drafts can quickly dry out the flowers. Spritzing the entire arrangement with plain water can help.
  • Keep fresh cut flowers away from ripening fruits and vegetables. Both release ethylene with causes flowers to open prematurely and shorten their lifespan.
  • Every few days, remove any spent blooms or greenery. If you are really motivated, you can remove the flowers as a bunch, cut a centimeter off the bottom of the stems and replace them in fresh water.
